Authenticality Company {aw-then-tik-a-li-tee cum-puh-nee}, the name is a conversation piece for sure. It's a complex name for a company with a simple mission: providing handcrafted products with pure, natural ingredients.

My company with a big name had small beginnings, as it began as a small, home-based business. As I embarked on my own personal journey to a healthier lifestyle, I began to understand the benefits of using natural ingredients for everyday grooming. After about 2 years of doing research into natural remedies and ingredients, a light bulb moment arrived and I decided to begin selling my own blends.

After extensive research, I found reputable companies that sourced organic, fair trade and 100% natural ingredients. My sourcing process included much trial and error, as I shopped around to find the absolute best ingredients for superior results.

My next task was finding an outlet to sell my increasingly popular products. This is where Shopify enters the scene. After much shopping around, Shopify stood out above the rest. After 2+ years of using Shopify, I've never looked back and I've grown to appreciate all that Shopify does to continually improve the e-commerce experience for shop owners.

How did you earn your first sales? Which channels are now generating the most traffic and sales for you?

Earning my first sales was incredibly rewarding, yet challenging. I took full advantage of the selling tools offered at Shopify such as Facebook ad coupons and apps in the Shopify App Store.

To date, my company is thriving, with the most successful selling tools being newsletter offers and coupon codes. Even if customers don't use the coupon codes offered, having them available drives traffic to our website, resulting in increased sales.

Tell us about the back-end of your business. What tools and apps do you use to run your store? How do you handle shipping and fulfillment?

My products are truly handmade. I mix, package and ship each product manually. It helps immensely that Shopify's dashboard system is so well organized. I can easily access all customer and shipping information, and even send shipping confirmation directly from the Shopify dashboard. I've found that I don't need an outside fulfillment service because Shopify is so well equipped!

What are your top recommendations for new ecommerce entrepreneurs?

To new store owners, I say believe in your dream! Even if no one else supports you, keep going anyway! Don't despise small beginnings, always give 100% and put your absolute BEST foot forward.
